Saint Patricks Season

January 27, 2010

St Patricks Season is almost here and the RCFF Pipes and Drums are ready to go. The RCFF will be marching in the Pearl River Parade on Sunday March 21st, in White Plains NY on Saturday March 13th at 12pm and in Eastchester NY on Sunday March 14th at 2pm. We hope you can all come out and show your support for the Band.

Procession for USMC Sgt Hrbek

On January 14th 2010, Westwood NJ native, Volunteer Firefighter and United States Marine Sgt Christopher Hrbek, was killed in the line of duty while serving in Afghanistan. His remains returned to NJ and at the request of his family, a heros welcome was planned. The combined massed Pipe and Drum Bands comprised of Bergen County Police, Bergen County Firefighters, Middlesex County, Rockland County Emeralds and The Rockland County Firefighters, led the procession as Sgt Hrbek was brought to the funeral home. It was a true hero's welcome, as the residents of Westwood NJ and Fire and Police Departsments from both NY and NJ lined the streets. It was an honor and a priveledge for the RCFF Pipes and Drums, to be included in this event. Rest In Peace Sgt Hrbek and thank you for your service.. God Bless America!!

Rockland County Firefighters Graduation

The RCFF Pipes And Drums performed at the recent graduation of the newest firefighters in Rockland County. The event was held at Rockland Community College Theatre. One of our pipers Christian Carle not only played but was also a graduate. Jose Molero, one of our drummers, also recieved his National Firefighters Certificate, congrats Jose.

Halfway To St Patricks Day Wing Nite

The RCFF Pipes & Drums would like to thank everyone who came out to support the Band. The turn out was great and we hope everyone had a good time. The wings were great, the beer was cold and the Live Band and the Pipe Band sounded wonderful. We would especially like to thank the Hillcrest Fire Department for providing us with the venue for the event as well as the members of Hillcrest FD, who helped us set up and cook all those wings, a job well done. We would also like to thank the band "Second Nature" for once again providing us with such great music. Thank You all again for helping to support the RCFF Pipes And Drums and making this nite a very special event.

Time: 700PM Place: Hillcrest FD 6-101 Thiells MT Ivy Road Pomona NY Price: $10.00 includes all you can eat wings,draft beer and soda. T-Shirts on sale 50/50 Raffle Live Band and Performance by the RCFF Pipes and Drums. Family friendly event Please come out and show your support for the band.

Rockland County Volunteer Firemans Association Convention

On 9-11-2009 the Rockland County Firefighters Pipes and Drums, played at the RCVFA Convention , held at the Holidome in Suffern NY. The Band Marched in to the "Military Set" and out to the "America Set". The RCFF Pipes And Drums were honored to open the convention and appreciated all the applause. See you all at the Firemans Parade o Saturday 9-12-09, in tallman NY.

Suffern 9-11 Memorial

On Friday September 11th 2009, The RCFF Pipes and Drums, did double duty and split the Band to perform at two important function. One group played at the Holidome in Suffern NY, opening the RCVFA Convention. While another group played at the 9-11 Memorial In Suffern. Both groups did a fantastic job and were honored to perform at both functions.

New Oxford PA Parade

The RCFF Pipes & Drums, would like to thank the Hillcrest Fire Department and The New Oxford United Fire Departments (PA) for bieng gracious hosts to Band,in New Oxford PA, during the weekend of August 6,7,8,9 2009. The Band had an incredible time down there and the parade was a great success. The RCFF Pipes and Drums led the parade, escorting the combined Rockland Fire Departments of Hillcrest,Suffern and Stony Point. It was a tremendous honor for the band. Thank you to all the Pipers and Drummers who made the long trip down, it was a great showing. We look forward to next year.
