Album Description

These are photographs taken by Nick Ariemma and we thank him for donating their use to the RCFF Pipes and Drums. On January 14th 2010, US Marine Sgt Christopher Hrbek was killed in action while serving in Afghanistan. Chris was 25 years old and grew up in Westwood NJ where he also served as a Volunteer firefighter. On Thursday January 21st, Chris returned home to a heroes welcome as thousands of people turned out to welcome his remains home. The RCFF Pipes and Drums were both humbled and honored to be asked to participate in a Massed Combination of several Pipe Bands. The Police Pipes and Drums of Bergen County were the lead band and were joined by ourselves along with Bergen County Firefighters Pipes and Drums, Rockland Emeralds Pipes and Drums and Middlesex County Police and Fire.
